The Cordoba Fusion 5 is the nylon-string guitar built for steel-string players. A slim Fusion C neck, 48mm nut, 16-inch fretboard radius, side dot markers, and a cutaway strip away most of the things that traditionally make a classical feel foreign — so if you've spent your life on a Strat or a Maton, picking this up doesn't mean re-learning the instrument. You just play. And the tone underneath is the real thing: solid spruce, mahogany, and a Fishman pickup waiting for an amp.
Most nylon guitars feel deliberately different — wide flat fingerboards, no dot markers, fat necks that fight against muscle memory. The Fusion 5 takes the opposite approach. The 16-inch fingerboard radius (versus a flat classical board), 1-7/8" / 48mm nut (slimmer than the usual 50–52mm), Fusion C neck profile, and side dot markers all translate straight from a steel-string fingerboard. The cutaway opens up the upper register for solo lines, and a traditional dovetail neck joint underneath keeps tone transfer and long-term stability where they should be.
The Fusion 5's voice comes from a solid spruce top over mahogany back and sides — the same wood pairing that has built classic acoustics for decades. The spruce delivers clarity, projection, and a crisp attack on every note; the mahogany rounds it out with warmth, woody midrange, and a natural compression that suits fingerstyle playing. Fan bracing under the top and ladder bracing across the back keep the response open and even, with plenty of headroom for both gentle arpeggios and harder strumming.
An undersaddle piezo pickup feeds the Fishman Presys VT Classical preamp, complete with onboard tuner and the kind of clean, feedback-resistant signal that's made Fishman the go-to brand for amplified nylon. Run it into an acoustic amp, a PA, or a recording interface and the Fusion 5 keeps its character without going brittle or boxy. The 9V battery lives in a combination battery box / output jack on the lower bout, so a swap takes about thirty seconds at a gig.
Beyond the headline features, you'll find a rosewood fingerboard and bridge, real bone nut and saddle (for cleaner string vibration than plastic), a Pau Ferro headplate carrying the Cordoba arches pearl-style logo, a dual-action truss rod, and Cordoba's own silver tuners with black buttons. Out of the box it's strung with Savarez Cristal Corum 500CJ high-tension strings — a quality nylon set that suits the bright spruce voice.
