The Yamaha FS800 Concert Acoustic Guitar - Natural is the FG800's smaller-bodied sibling, for players who find a dreadnought too much guitar to wrap an arm around. You get the same solid spruce top on a concert body that sits closer and speaks more evenly across the strings. Tinted natural gloss finish.

Solid spruce top on a concert body

A solid spruce top is rare at this price and it is the reason the FS800 keeps improving as it is played. The concert body is 380mm wide and 90 to 110mm deep, narrower in the waist than a dreadnought, so it suits fingerpicking and sitting down with it for hours. Back and sides are nato or okume with black binding and a tortoise-pattern pickguard.

634mm scale, walnut fingerboard, TM29T tuners

The 634mm scale is slightly shorter than the FG800's, easing tension for smaller hands and making barre chords less of a fight. The nato neck is matt-finished with a walnut fingerboard, 400mm radius, 43mm nut and 10mm string spacing. Die-cast chrome TM29T tuners hold pitch properly, which is not a given on a first guitar.

Set up and ready

The walnut bridge with urea saddle and black ABS pins gets its action checked, and it ships strung with Yamaha FS50BT or D'Addario XT strings. Set up in-store by Guitar World Australia's techs before it ships to you.
