Yamaha NP-15 Piaggero 61-Key Portable Keyboard - Black is for the player who wants piano feel and piano sound in something that slides under a bed or into the back seat. 61 box-shaped keys with touch response

The keys are the traditional box shape rather than a synth-style waterfall, so your fingers land where a piano would put them. Touch response has Soft, Medium, Hard and a Fixed setting for organ-style parts. Transpose covers six semitones each way and tuning runs from 414.8 to 466.8 Hz in roughly 0.2 Hz steps.

AWM stereo grand piano and an on-board recorder

The grand piano voice uses Advanced Wave Memory stereo sampling, with 64-note polyphony to keep long pedalled passages intact. The recorder holds roughly 7,000 notes, enough to capture a piece and hear where it needs work.

USB to host, Smart Pianist and half-damper pedal

A single USB to host connection carries both MIDI and audio to a computer or iOS device, and the NP-15 works with the Smart Pianist app. The sustain pedal jack is half-damper compatible with the optional FC3A. Add a UD-BT01 adaptor for wireless MIDI, and auto power off stops it running all night.
