Yamaha P-145BT 88-Key Digital Piano with Bluetooth - Black is the compact weighted piano for the player who wants an honest 88-key action in a flat, a share house or a small teaching room. The GHC action is weighted heavier in the low keys and lighter in the high ones, the way a grand is, in a case 318 mm deep and 1,326 mm wide. Touch sensitivity has Hard, Medium and Soft settings plus Fixed. Transpose runs six semitones each way and tuning goes from 414.8 to 466.8 Hz in roughly 0.2 Hz steps.

CFIII concert grand with damper resonance

The main piano is sampled from the Yamaha CFIII concert grand and damper resonance adds the string wash when the pedal goes down. There are 10 voices in total, 64-note polyphony, 4 effect types and a Sound Boost setting that pushes the piano forward when you are playing with others.

Bluetooth audio and USB audio at 44.1 kHz

Bluetooth audio input streams backing tracks or lessons from a phone through the two 7 W amplifiers. USB to host carries MIDI and audio at 44.1 kHz, 16-bit stereo, so recording into a laptop is one cable, and the Smart Pianist app takes over the settings from a screen. Two standard stereo headphone jacks let a teacher listen in.

Duo mode, 71 songs and pedal options

Duo mode splits the keyboard into two matching ranges for lessons. There are 21 voice demo songs and 50 classics on board. The sustain pedal jack and the pedal unit socket are both fitted, so you can start with a footswitch and add the optional LP-5a triple pedal and L-100 stand later, or carry it in the SC-KB581 soft bag.
