Yamaha SLG200N Silent Guitar, Nylon-String - Natural

The Yamaha SLG200N is a nylon-string classical for players who need to practise quietly, record direct, or travel without a bulky case. The body is a slim mahogany core inside a detachable rosewood and maple frame, and the SRT Powered pickup and preamp turns that near-silent instrument into a full-sounding classical in headphones or through a PA. Frame that comes off for travel

The rosewood and maple frame unclips, leaving a mahogany body 356mm wide and 87mm deep. Overall length with the frame on is 970mm. Because there is no soundbox, the acoustic volume is low enough for late-night practice in a shared house.

SRT Powered pickup and preamp

The Studio Response Technology (SRT) Powered system is built to give a natural acoustic sound in headphones or through the Line OUT, and the SRT Blend control mixes that studio-style character against the direct pickup. Bass and treble controls, a DC-in socket and a Phone Input are all on the body.

Reverb, chorus, tuner and an aux input

Reverb 1, Reverb 2 and Chorus are adjustable on the body, giving a dry headphone signal some air. A chromatic tuner is built in, and the AUX IN with its own volume control lets you play along to a backing track from a phone. Stereo earphones are listed among the accessories.

Classical neck: 650mm scale, 50mm nut, flat fingerboard

The mahogany neck is matt-finished and carries a flat rosewood fingerboard at the standard classical 650mm scale, with a 50mm urea nut and 11.5mm string spacing at the urea saddle, so fingerstyle players get the room they are used to. The bridge is rosewood, tuners are RM1188NB-7B, and it ships with medium-tension Yamaha S10 strings.
