The PRS SE Silver Sky Maple in Nylon Blue puts John Mayer's signature PRS within easy reach, with a maple fretboard for a brighter look and a snappier feel under the fingers. Nylon Blue is a deep, slightly greyed teal-blue that looks great against the white pickguard and the natural maple neck.
A vintage feel, done properly
The neck carries the 635JM carve developed for Mayer's own guitar: rounded and full without feeling clubby. A vintage-style 8.5" radius makes open chords sit comfortably, and the 22 medium frets keep bends easy. The maple board is dressed with PRS's small bird inlays, and the Silver Sky's inverted headstock lets you reach the truss rod from the front.
635JM "S" single coils
Three 635JM "S" pickups give you the warm, glassy single-coil voice the Silver Sky is known for, with a top end that sparkles without ever turning harsh. Positions two and four deliver that hollow, quacky in-between sound, and the bridge pickup has enough bite for blues leads. Controls are a volume, two tone knobs and a five-way blade.
Smooth vibrato, steady tuning
The steel tremolo on its two-point mounting, a synthetic bone nut and vintage-style tuners combine for gentle shimmer and dive work that comes back in tune. The poplar body keeps the guitar light and comfortable over a long set.
