Yamaha YSL254CFS Student Trombone — Carbon Slide, Silver
The YSL254CFS rethinks the student trombone from the slide out. Its outer slide is carbon-fibre-reinforced rather than solid brass, trimming roughly a quarter off the weight of a traditional horn — and on a trombone, where every gram hangs off an outstretched left arm, that changes everything about how long a young player can practise. The silver-plated body against the black carbon slide looks superb on stage, too.
A quarter lighter, held right where it counts
Less weight out front means better posture, a steadier grip and later fatigue — the three things that quietly decide whether home practice happens. Younger or smaller players especially get more productive minutes out of every session, building the habits that carry through band life.
Shrugs off the band room
On a brass trombone, one knocked music stand can put the slide out of action and the horn on a repair bench. The carbon outer slide is built for the realities of school use — it takes the everyday bumps of a crowded rehearsal room in its stride, so the instrument keeps getting played instead of waiting on a technician.
Still every inch a Yamaha
The acoustics haven't been compromised to save weight: the YSL254CFS keeps a 204.4 mm (8") yellow-brass bell, a medium 12.7 mm bore and a nickel-silver inner slide, so it blows and sounds like the Yamaha student trombones bandmasters already trust.
In the case
Ships with the SL-48S mouthpiece and a fitted case — ready for the first rehearsal.
