The 150 W amplifier drives an 8-inch woofer in a ported MDF box and reaches down to 22 Hz. That is the region where an 808, a synth sub or a bowed double bass either sits right or turns to mud on a club system, and a nearfield alone will not tell you which.

Balanced ins and outs so it sits in the chain

Two XLR inputs and two balanced TRS inputs take the left and right feed from your interface or desk, and two XLR outputs pass left and right on to the monitors. The sub goes in line between the two, which keeps the cabling tidy and the monitors fed from one place.

Crossover controls that suit the room

A HIGH CUT control sets where the sub stops, adjustable from 80 to 120 Hz with a centre click, and a LOW CUT control with its own on/off switch sets where the monitors take over across the same range. Together with the LEVEL control you can match the sub to HS5s in a small room or HS8s in a bigger one without a hump at the handover.

Phase switch for a quick alignment

The PHASE switch flips between NORM and REV, which is the fast fix for the bass thinning out at the crossover when the sub sits behind or beside the monitors. The cabinet is 389 mm deep, weighs 12.5 kg and draws 70 W, so it will sit under a desk without dominating the room.
