A standout recreation of one of Fender’s most historically important guitars, this 2014 Custom Shop '51 Nocaster pays homage to the short-lived but legendary era that helped launch the Telecaster legacy. Built with period-accurate specs and masterfully aged, this guitar nails the look, feel, and tone of an original early-’50s workhorse.
The ash body is finished in a beautifully worn blonde nitro lacquer, complete with lacquer checking and subtle crazing that give it an authentic road-worn aesthetic. There's some tasteful pickwear on the blackguard, adding to its played-in mojo. The maple neck features a chunky U profile—substantial in the hand, as a real '51 should be—with a 9.5" radius and 6105 frets for a vintage-meets-modern feel that plays effortlessly up and down the board.
Under the hood, a set of hand-wound Custom Shop Nocaster pickups deliver all the grit, twang, and woody midrange you’d expect from this era. The bridge pickup bites with clarity and snarl, while the neck pickup adds warmth and vintage smokiness. It's a versatile, tone-rich instrument that handles everything from country snap to blues growl and classic rock grind.
