1963 ‘L’Series Stratocaster – It was originally Fiesta Red but has been refinished in Olympic White, with some of the red bleeding through in places and the usual buckle rash and dings, crazing and scrapes which look great. The Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard and original neck is perfect and effortless to play, the three original black bottom pickups have even output and all have the classic tones that make the '63 so desirable. I know Faded Olympic White perfectly offset by the mint green guard that has darkened over the years and the beautiful Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard. It needed a re-fret in the late 80s and is fitted with SG style frets which I find helps bends and make the neck feel quick and easy. The guitar is otherwise 100% original with the exceptions being the volume pot, saddles, neck dots and a 5-way switch (I have the original 3-way which is included). The original tremelo arm, back plate and 'ashtray' bridge cover are in the period Fender rectangular hard case. I'll be sad to see her go but it's time someone else enjoyed owning this wonderful, highly collectable and great players' guitar.
Available to view/play in Sydney or Brisbane.
