Taylor’s acclaimed 700 series combines exceptional USA build quality with an artisan touch of exceptional craftsmanship. The 722ce is the ultimate modern studio or stage guitar with looks worth showing off as a display piece. Full koa top, back, and sides deliver balanced frequency that’s paired perfectly with a Taylor Grand Concert acoustic body shape. The Grand Concert body is small but articulate — its narrow waist highlights fundamental notes and suppresses overtones for a clear voice with modern presence. Plus, this fresh Taylor’s revolutionary V-Class bracing inside the guitar yields spot-on intonation, greater resonance, and longer sustain that you’d expect from a much bigger guitar. Players on the hunt for a compact studio or stage machine should look no further than the Taylor 722ce from Guitar World!

Exceptional Grand Concert design

The Grand Concert design is ideal for studio and stage use where pure playing is your top priority. One of Taylor’s original proprietary guitar shapes, the Grand Concert’s compact size and tapered waist keep overtones in check, so chords and fingerpicking stay crisp. Especially favored by modern pickers, the Grand Concert’s shortened scale length creates a silkier string feel up and down the fingerboard. Plus, the 722ce Grand Concert features a Venetian cutaway for excellent access to upper frets. No guitar shape sounds or feels quite like the Grand Concert!

Curated koa and other tonewoods

The finest koa tonewood grows only on the Hawaiian Islands among the extremes of tropical weather and rugged volcanic mountainsides. In Hawaiian, koa means “bold,” which describes both its stunning wood grain and unique acoustic tone. The 722ce features a natural koa top, koa back and sides, and a mahogany neck with a matte finish and an ebony fingerboard accented with maple and rosewood purfling. It’s an incredibly articulate guitar with a trebly snap, haunting midrange, and warm low end. Plus, like any koa guitar, the 722ce’s low end warms and opens the more it’s played over time. The result is a guitar that matures and ages like a fine wine.

V-Class bracing: a sonic innovation

Bracing supports each and every acoustic guitar’s interior, and, though it's almost invisible, bracing shapes guitar acoustics in a big way! X-shape bracing was standard on acoustics for over a century, but Taylor’s revolutionary V-bracing teases more volume and sustain out of a guitar’s sound chamber, even a small-body guitar like the 722ce’s Grand Concert shape. V-bracing allows wooden acoustic tops to vibrate with more richness, projection, and sustain with more space inside the sound chamber for note maturation. This groundbreaking innovation also improves intonation and rounds out the hi-fi sound of top-of-the-line Taylor guitars like the 722ce.

Cutting-edge Taylor Expression System 2 electronics

Amplified players are going to love the Taylor Expression System 2 electronics built into the 722ce! The ES2 system features a revolutionary segmented pickup located behind the bridge saddle; this pickup position delivers remarkably accurate and clear sound production that’s authentic to your playing. Each ES2 system features a handy master volume knob for fast level adjustments, in addition to a 2-band EQ for independent treble/bass adjustments to get the sound you need. Plus, the ES2 system also has a built-in phase switch, which offers essential feedback suppression whenever the system is active.
