The Taylor Next Generation Builder's Edition 914ce reimagines Taylor's flagship 900 Series Grand Auditorium around a trio of modern innovations — scalloped V-Class bracing, the new Action Control Neck and the Claria acoustic pickup — wrapped in a solid Lutz spruce top with Indian rosewood back and sides. It's a fingerstyle-and-strumming all-rounder built to sound as refined as it feels.

Lutz Spruce and Indian Rosewood

A solid Lutz spruce top drives bold, clear projection with the headroom to stay articulate whether you dig in or play soft. Underneath, Indian rosewood back and sides layer in blooming overtones and a gently scooped midrange that have made this pairing a benchmark for decades — warm lows, sparkling trebles and a richly textured voice that only opens up with playing time.

The Grand Auditorium, Contoured for Comfort

Taylor's most versatile body shape balances the punch of a dreadnought with the finesse of a smaller-bodied guitar. The Builder's Edition treatment adds a beveled armrest, a beveled cutaway and softly chamfered edges, so long sessions stay comfortable and the whole fretboard is easy to reach.

V-Class Bracing and the Action Control Neck

Scalloped V-Class bracing replaces traditional X-bracing for more volume, longer sustain and improved intonation up the neck. The new Action Control Neck pairs a long-tenon neck joint — for extra warmth and body — with a patented height-adjustment system you can set in minutes, no detuning needed.

Claria Acoustic Pickup System

Plug in and the onboard Claria pickup and preamp translate the guitar's natural acoustic voice into clear, faithful amplified tone, ready for the stage or the studio straight out of the case.

900 Series Appointments

As a 900 Series instrument, the 914ce is finished to impress: Belle Fleur mother-of-pearl inlays set into a West African ebony fretboard, matching ebony bridge and peghead, precise Gotoh 510 machine heads in antique gold, and a full gloss body finish.
