In the 1940s when electric guitars were still in their infancy, inventor Leo Fender decided that he could improve upon the amplified hollow-body instruments which were in popular use at the time but implementing a simple solid-body design. He also believed he could streamline the manufacturing process. Leo Fender was right, and since 1946, his innovations have changed the world.
