PRS SE Custom 24-08 Electric Guitar - Charcoal Cherry Burst

The PRS SE Custom 24-08 in Charcoal Cherry Burst takes the double-cut that made Paul Reed Smith's name and adds a pair of coil-tap mini toggles, giving you eight distinct pickup combinations from two humbuckers. The flame maple veneer fades from smoky charcoal in the centre to a deep cherry red at the edges, finished off with a matching red headstock face.

Eight sounds from two humbuckers

Each humbucker has its own mini toggle, so you can split the treble and bass pickups independently rather than both at once. Combine that with the three-way toggle and you get full humbucking roar, bright single-coil snap, and some genuinely useful hybrids, such as a split neck pickup alongside the full bridge humbucker. One volume and one tone control keep the rest of the layout clean.

TCI "S" pickups

The TCI "S" humbuckers are voiced so the split sounds stay full and level with the humbucking ones, which means you can flick between modes mid-song without a jump in volume. Clean, they have a clear, vintage-leaning character; push them into a cranked amp and they thicken up with plenty of sustain.

Classic Custom 24 feel

Underneath the switching it is a proper Custom 24: a mahogany back with a carved maple top, a set Wide Thin maple neck, a 10" radius rosewood board with 24 frets and bird inlays, and a 25" scale that makes bends feel easy. PRS's patented tremolo sits on the bridge end, with smooth action and solid return to pitch.
