Yamaha APX600 Thinline Acoustic-Electric Guitar - Vintage White

The Yamaha APX600 is the thin-bodied stage acoustic that has lived in more Australian gig bags than any other. A spruce top over a body only 80 to 90 mm deep, a deep cutaway, and Yamaha's SYSTEM65 pickup and preamp with a tuner built in: it is the plug-in-and-go guitar for singer-songwriters, worship teams and anyone stepping up to a stage for the first time. This one is the Vintage White finish, gloss on body and neck.

A body built for standing up

At 384 mm across and under 90 mm deep, the APX body sits against you like an electric rather than a dreadnought, so a three-hour set does not leave your shoulder aching. The cutaway opens up the upper frets for lead lines and capo work, and the slim profile keeps feedback down when the stage volume climbs.

SYSTEM65 pickup and preamp

The under-saddle pickup feeds a preamp with volume, three-band EQ and a sweepable mid-frequency control, so you can notch out the boominess of a bad room without touching the desk. The built-in tuner means no pedal, no clip-on, no fuss between songs. Output is a standard quarter-inch line out.

Spruce top, easy neck

A spruce top gives the APX600 a bright, articulate voice that cuts through a band mix when amplified. The neck carries a rosewood fingerboard with a 400 mm radius and a 43 mm nut, which is comfortable for chords and fast enough for single-note work. Die-cast chrome TM29T tuners hold pitch, and the ivory and black binding with an abalone-style soundhole inlay give it a finished look under lights.

What you get

The APX600 ships strung with 12 to 53 gauge strings, with a hex wrench for truss-rod adjustment. No case is included, so pick a gig bag to suit. The Vintage White finish is gloss on the body, with a gloss neck to match.
