The Yamaha APX600FM Thinline Acoustic-Electric Guitar - Flamed Maple Amber is the APX thinline for players who spend more time plugged in than not. The body is only 80 to 90mm deep, so it sits against you like an electric, and the SYSTEM65 preamp puts a tuner and three-band EQ under your fingers. The flamed maple top under Amber gloss is what people notice first.

Flamed maple top, thinline APX body

The figured maple top is the reason the FM version exists, and the Amber finish is there to show the flame off. Underneath is the standard APX shape: 384mm wide, 490mm body length and that 80 to 90mm depth, which cuts feedback on a loud stage and makes long sets easier on the shoulder. Ivory and black binding and an ABS-and-abalone rosette dress it up, with no pickguard to hide the figure.

SYSTEM65 preamp with a built-in tuner

The SYSTEM65 gives you volume, three-band EQ and a mid-frequency control, so you can dial out the boxy band a room throws back at you instead of just scooping the mids. The built-in tuner means no clip-on and no pedal between songs. A single line out runs to your amp, DI or desk.

634mm scale, 43mm nut, easy upper frets

The 634mm scale is a touch shorter than a dreadnought, easing string tension and helping bends. The nut is 43mm with 10mm string spacing, the rosewood fingerboard has a 400mm radius on a matt-finished neck, and the APX body keeps the upper frets within reach. Stock strings are .012 to .053.

Die-cast tuners and a rosewood bridge

Die-cast chrome TM29T tuners hold pitch through a set, and the rosewood bridge with a urea saddle and black ABS pins carries the string energy into the top. The body is gloss, the neck matt.
