Yamaha FSX800C Concert Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar - Sand Burst is the affordable concert cutaway for players who need a pickup, a tuner and a solid top in one guitar without the price tag. The Sand Burst gloss finish shades from a light centre to darker edges and looks the part under stage lights.

Solid spruce top over nato and okume

The top is solid spruce with scalloped bracing, so it responds to a light strum and keeps improving with play. Back and sides are nato and okume. The body is gloss-finished with black binding, a black and white soundhole inlay and a tortoise-pattern pickguard.

Concert cutaway body on a 634mm scale

At 380mm wide, 497mm long and 90mm to 110mm deep, the concert body is easy to hold for a long set, and the cutaway keeps the upper frets in reach. The 634mm scale and 1021mm total length mean slightly softer tension than a full-scale dreadnought.

SYSTEM66: volume, 3-band EQ, tuner, mid control

The SYSTEM66 preamp carries volume, a 3-band EQ, a built-in tuner and a mid-frequency sweep for finding and cutting the note that howls on stage. The line out runs into an acoustic amp, a DI or straight to the desk.

Walnut fingerboard, TM29T tuners

The matt-finished nato neck has a walnut fingerboard at a 400mm radius and a walnut bridge. The nut is 43mm urea with 10mm string spacing, the saddle is urea, and TM29T die-cast chrome tuners with black ABS pins handle the hardware. Strings are Yamaha FS50BT or D'Addario XT.
