Yamaha Storia III Acoustic-Electric Guitar - Chocolate Brown is the concert-body Storia built to be looked at as much as played: a solid top over mahogany back and sides, brass bridge pins, champagne-gold open-gear tuners and a wine red interior showing through the soundhole. The Chocolate Brown semi-gloss finish is why you leave it on the stand in the lounge room. Underneath the styling is a 634mm-scale concert acoustic with a passive pickup already fitted.

Solid top, mahogany back and sides

The top is solid, so it keeps improving with playing, and the mahogany back and sides give a warm, midrange-forward voice that suits singers. Ivory binding and a mahogany and ivory soundhole inlay carry the colour scheme through. There's no pickguard, which keeps the top clean.

Concert body that sits close

The concert body is 380mm wide and 90 to 110mm deep, with a 497mm body length and 1021mm overall, so it's comfortable on the couch or a stool. The 634mm scale takes a little tension off the strings. The nut is 43mm with 10mm string spacing, a standard steel-string feel.

Brass pins, champagne-gold tuners

Open-gear champagne-gold tuners and brass bridge pins are the details you notice from across the room. Both the body and the nato neck are finished semi-gloss, so the whole guitar has the same low sheen. The fingerboard and bridge are walnut, the fingerboard on an R400mm radius, with a urea nut and saddle.

SRT piezo pickup, no controls

An SRT piezo pickup is fitted, passive and with no preamp panel, so the sides stay uncut. A line out jack is all you see. Run it into an acoustic amp or a DI when you want to play out. Strings are Yamaha FS50BT or D'Addario XT.
