Yamaha YRN-302BII Sopranino Recorder is the little F sopranino that sits on top of a recorder consort, for the player who already has a descant and treble and wants the high part covered. It is ABS resin, so it plays evenly across both registers and does not need babying.
The straight windway gives a sopranino the air resistance it needs to keep the top register steady, which is where a small recorder can otherwise get shrill. Double holes on the lowest two fingers allow proper chromatic fingerings rather than half-holing.
At this size the instrument is made in two pieces, head and body, so it still tunes by pulling the head joint and comes apart to dry. It is supplied with a fingering chart and recorder cream for the joint.
