The Yamaha LL16M ARE Original Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar - Natural is the L Series all-solid guitar for the player who has outgrown the entry level: solid Engelmann spruce with A.R.E. over solid mahogany, an ebony fingerboard, and a passive SRT piezo that stays out of sight until you plug in. The round-shoulder body pushes plenty of air for strumming and still records cleanly. Natural gloss finish.

Solid Engelmann spruce with A.R.E., solid mahogany body

Engelmann spruce is a lighter, more responsive top wood than Sitka, and Yamaha's A.R.E. treatment ages it so the guitar sounds broken-in from the first strum. Back and sides are solid mahogany, which brings a warm, focused midrange that sits well under a voice. Maple and black binding and an abalone, black and white rosette dress it without shouting.

Round-shoulder dreadnought, 650mm scale

The body is 415mm wide, 513mm long and a deep 100 to 125mm, so there is real bass and headroom when you strum hard. The 650mm scale keeps full string tension and a firm attack, and total length is 1046mm. Tortoise-pattern pickguard and a gloss body finish complete the look.

Five-ply neck, 44mm nut, ebony fingerboard

The neck is five plies of mahogany and rosewood, which keeps it stable through seasons of humidity change, with a matt finish. The nut is 44mm wide with 11mm string spacing, a millimetre more room than most steel-strings, which fingerpickers will feel straight away. The fingerboard and bridge are both ebony, with a 400mm radius and black ABS pins.

Passive SRT piezo, gold tuners

The SRT piezo pickup is passive, so there is no preamp panel cut into the side, no battery, and nothing on the outside to give it away. A line out jack feeds a DI or an outboard preamp where you set your EQ. Die-cast gold TM29G tuners hold pitch and match the natural finish, and it comes strung with Elixir Nanoweb 80/20 bronze lights.
