Yamaha LS6 ARE Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar - Natural is the concert-body entry to the L Series, built for players who have outgrown their first solid-top and want a guitar that records and gigs without excuses. An A.R.E.-treated Engelmann spruce top over rosewood and a passive pickup set it apart, finished in Natural gloss with gold hardware.

Solid Engelmann spruce top with A.R.E.

The top is solid Engelmann spruce given Yamaha's A.R.E. treatment, which conditions the wood so a new guitar responds more like one that has been played for years. Rosewood back and sides add depth and sustain under the spruce. The body is gloss-finished with cream and black binding, an abalone, black and white soundhole inlay and a tortoise-pattern pickguard.

Concert body, 650mm scale

The concert body is 380mm wide, 497mm long and 100mm to 120mm deep, so it sits close but has more air inside than the FS shape. Scale length is 650mm with a total length of 1030mm, giving fuller tension and a crisper attack for flatpicking.

Five-ply neck, 44mm nut

The neck is a five-ply lamination of mahogany and rosewood, which resists twisting and holds its set-up through humidity swings. The rosewood fingerboard has a 400mm radius, and the 44mm urea nut with 11mm string spacing gives fingerstyle players room between strings. The bridge is rosewood.

Passive SRT piezo pickup, gold tuners

A passive SRT piezo pickup under the saddle feeds a line out, with no preamp cut into the side and no battery to change. Die-cast gold TM29G tuners and black ABS bridge pins with white dots finish the hardware, and it ships with Elixir NANOWEB 80/20 Bronze Light strings.
