Yamaha TAS3 C TransAcoustic Concert Cutaway Guitar - Sand Burst Gloss packs reverb, chorus, delay, a looper and Bluetooth audio into an all-solid concert cutaway, so the effects come from the guitar and not from a box on the floor. It's the second-generation TransAcoustic in the smaller body, for players who find a dreadnought too much guitar. Solid Sitka spruce A.R.E. top, solid mahogany back and sides, Sand Burst gloss.

Smaller body, full scale

At 380mm wide and 90 to 115mm deep the concert body tucks in under the arm, and the cutaway opens up the upper frets. Body length is 497mm, total length 1031mm. The 650mm scale keeps the tension and the fret spacing of a full-size guitar.

Effects you hear without an amp

SYSTEM76 is the TransAcoustic system: reverb, chorus and delay on the guitar, heard from the body as you play acoustically. Plug the line out into a desk and the effects come out of the jack too, with a dedicated line out volume. It makes a solo set in a dry room sound like a bigger space.

Looper with tap sensor, Bluetooth in

The looper lets you build a part and solo over it, and the tap sensor puts looper control on the guitar body. Bluetooth audio sends a track from your phone to the guitar for practising or performing. A lithium-ion battery with a magnetic charging connection keeps it cable-free while you play.

Solid spruce A.R.E. top, solid mahogany body

The solid Sitka spruce top is A.R.E. treated, so it responds like a guitar that's already had years of playing. Back and sides are solid mahogany. Black binding, a transparent pickguard, a blue ripple soundhole inlay and open-gear champagne-gold tuners give it a look you'll recognise across a room.

Ebony fingerboard, 44mm nut

The mahogany neck is finished matte, with an ebony fingerboard on an R400mm radius and an ebony bridge with black ABS pins. Nut width is 44mm with 11mm string spacing. Elixir NANOWEB 80/20 Bronze light strings fitted.
