Yamaha TF1 16-Channel Digital Mixer is the compact console for a band that mixes its own shows, a small venue or a church that wants recallable preamps and motorised faders in a desk one person can carry. TouchFlow Operation puts the channel you touch on the screen, so you mix by hand rather than by menu. It also captures the show, with Nuendo Live in the box.
Touch a channel strip and its processing fills the screen, ready to adjust. The faders are 100 mm motorised units with 10-bit resolution and a range from +10 dB down to -138 dB before minus infinity. Save a scene per band or per service and every fader returns to its position on recall.
Sixteen D-PRE preamps store their gain with each scene, so the inputs are already set when the act walks on. The console runs at a 48 kHz sampling rate, with equivalent input noise of -128 dBu at maximum gain, so a quiet vocal mic stays quiet.
The onboard DSP provides eight effects engines and ten graphic EQs, so reverb, delay and monitor-wedge EQ stay inside the desk. Eight DCA groups let you ride the drums or the vocals on one fader without summing them, over a stereo bus and a sub bus. One expansion slot takes an optional expansion card for a stage I/O rack.
Total harmonic distortion is under 0.05% from 20 Hz to 20 kHz at +4 dBu into 600 ohms, and frequency response is +0.5, -1.5 dB across that band. Dynamic range is 110 dB at the DA converter and 107 dB input to omni out, and adjacent-channel crosstalk is -100 dB.
The TF1 is 716 mm wide, 599 mm deep and weighs 13.5 kg, running on 100 to 240 V at 100 W. Nuendo Live, a quick guide and a power cord are included. The RK5014 rack-mount kit and the FC5 foot switch are optional extras.
