Yamaha TF3 24-Channel Digital Mixer is the mid-size console for a club, a touring act or a house of worship that needs 24 recallable preamps, motorised faders and a mix that comes back exactly as it was saved. TouchFlow Operation means the channel you touch is the channel on screen, which keeps a fast changeover calm. It also records the show, with Nuendo Live included.
Touch a channel and its EQ, dynamics and sends appear in front of you, ready to adjust. The faders are 100 mm motorised units with 10-bit resolution and a range from +10 dB down to -138 dB before minus infinity. Recall a scene and every fader travels to its stored position, so the second band's soundcheck starts from where you left it.
All 24 D-PRE preamps store their gain with the scene, so each act's inputs are already right when they walk on. On a night with three bands and 20-minute changeovers, that recall is the difference between mixing the show and rebuilding it.
The onboard DSP carries eight effects engines and ten graphic EQs, so reverbs, delays and monitor-wedge EQ live inside the console rather than in a rack. Eight DCA groups let you ride all the drums or all the vocals on one fader without summing them, on top of a stereo bus and a sub bus. A single expansion slot accepts an optional expansion card for connecting a stage I/O rack.
Total harmonic distortion is under 0.05% from 20 Hz to 20 kHz at +4 dBu into 600 ohms, and frequency response is +0.5, -1.5 dB across the same band. Dynamic range is 110 dB at the DA converter and 107 dB input to omni out, equivalent input noise is -128 dBu, and adjacent-channel crosstalk is -100 dB.
Nuendo Live ships with the console for multitrack capture, alongside a quick guide and power cord. The TF3 is 866 mm wide and 599 mm deep, weighs 17.0 kg, and runs on 100 to 240 V at 110 W. An FC5 foot switch is optional.
